About Me.
Hi there! I’m Aretha Vladkov born and raised in Belleville, IL, a small Midwest
town not too far from good ole St. Louie. I’ve been writing since I was eight years
old—mostly short stories and poetry back then, just whatever was bubbling up in
my soul. That love for words and books never left me. It followed me through
high school and even into college.

These days, I’m all about using my words to inspire, uplift, and share the love of
Jesus. My mission is simple: to help light a fire in others for the gospel and to walk
boldly in the great commission—reaching the lost and encouraging people to
live out their God-given purpose.​ So far, I've written and self-published three
God-inspired books (all under my maiden name, Lumas), and I’ve had the joy
of helping several other authors self-publish their work too!
Though I’ll always be a Lumas at heart, I’m now proud to be Mrs. Vladkov. We just
celebrated our two-year anniversary! My husband and I live in the vibrant,
culture-rich Central West End in St. Louis with our cat, Shadow.
I’m so blessed and grateful for how God brought us together—and I can’t wait to
see where He leads us next!
